Michael Bottigliero grew up in a traditional Italian-American family on the south side of Chicago's Bridgeport neighborhood.  His notions of wine first started with a fiasco (typically a straw covered bottle of Chianti) on the table with Sunday pasta dinner.  After three years of traveling with the US Navy he returned to Chicago and almost immediately turned to the bar/restaurant industry while earning a college degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  His love of beer, spirits, food and wine kept Michael in the restaurant business, where he decided to pursue a career as a Sommelier.

Under the tutelage of some great Sommeliers, Michael has obtained five wine and beverage certifications from the International Sommelier GuildCourt of Master Sommeliers and the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.  

Michael has worked on some amazing wine and beverage lists including Eno at The Intercontinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, The Tasting Room, Guanajuato Contemporary Mexican and Tequila Bar, Le Grand Comptoir and Catbridge Cellars.

Windy City Wine Guy Consulting has been expanding to include Chicagoland, Greater Milwaukee and just about anywhere a flight can reach (recent trips to New York, DC, San Diego and Seattle to name a few).  Michael and his team of trusty Sommeliers are ready to help you and to host your next corporate wine event or private celebration.
