Michael Bottigliero grew up in a traditional Italian-American family on the south side of Chicago's Bridgeport neighborhood.  His notions of wine first started with a fiasco (typically a straw covered bottle of Chianti) on the table with Sunday pasta dinner.  After three years of traveling with the US Navy, he returned to Chicago.  Almost immediately, he turned to the bar/restaurant industry while earning a college degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago. His love of beer, spirits, food and wine kept Michael in the restaurant business.

Michael's obtained five certifications  from  the International Sommelier GuildCourt of Master Sommeliers, and the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.

Michael has worked on some great wine and beverage lists including Eno at The Intercontinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, The Tasting Room, Guanajuato Contemporary Mexican and Tequila Bar, Le Grand Comptoir and Catbridge Cellars.

Windy City Wine Guy Consulting has recently expanded to included: Chicagoland, Greater Milwaukee and the Twin Cities.  Michael and his slew of trusty Sommeliers are ready to help you and host your next corporate wine event or friend/family celebration.

"Many people are intimidated by the product.  Most do not know what or how to order and shop for wine.  And then there are those who would rather go the easy route, go with what they know, and never step out of the box and venture into the sensual world of pleasure that is wine. f a southside Chicago guy can love this tasty beverage, so can you!"
